World Class: the movement redefining health in Romania

It all began in Sweden, in 1983, with a single bold idea: bring fitness, wellbeing and health together under one name – World Class. A name that didn’t just suggest high performance, but demanded it. From the beginning, World Class was never just a gym. It was a mindset. A movement to live stronger, longer and with purpose.

World Class – the movement redefining health in Romania

In November 2000, that movement reached Romania. The first club opened in Bucharest at the JW Marriott Grand Hotel, redefining what a fitness experience could be – premium facilities, expert guidance and a new standard of care. What followed was more than expansion. It was a cultural shift. As new clubs appeared in Timișoara, Cluj and beyond, World Class became a movement: one that connects thousands of people through a shared belief in better living.

World Class is the largest health & fitness network in Romania

With over 84.000 active members today, World Class is the largest health & fitness network in Romania. But its impact goes deeper than numbers. World Class has built a comprehensive wellness ecosystem: gyms, personal training, swimming, sauna, unlimited group fitness classes and access to wellness areas. This holistic approach is redefining what fitness means – for individuals, communities and organizations.

More than 700 certified professionals form the expert team behind this movement. Many are former athletes or specialists in kinesiology and sports science. Their knowledge, combined with continuous training and global partnerships like Les Mills, ensures that every session reflects the highest international standards.

But growth alone isn’t the story. What truly drives World Class forward is a set of values rooted in self-leadership, resilience and progress. The same values that power every bold idea, every visionary business, every act of personal reinvention.

Because excellence isn’t a destination – it’s a decision. One made every day, whether you’re stepping into a boardroom or onto a treadmill. It’s in how you move, how you think, how you lead.

At World Class, the mission remains simple and powerful: to inspire more people to be more active, more often. Not just for how it looks, but for how it feels. For how it elevates the mind, body and spirit.

This is more than fitness. It’s the pursuit of a higher standard – in health, in life, in everything we do.
